On Tour With Sam Lee! Festivals Galore! GAMH w Steve Poltz and John Elliot! Cayamo 2016!

We are delighted to be opening 4 more shows for the magnificent Sam Lee and his beautiful band (they are over from London, truly fantastic and unique - not to be missed)  in the North East-  we started out at the Columbus Theatre in Providence last night - where Ida learned how to drive Priscilla The Dream Machine- tonight we play the courtyard of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, then onto Joe’s Pub in NYC on July 30th, The Tin Angel in Philly July 31st, and Jammin’ Java in the DC (Vienna, VA) area on August 2nd.

It has been a marvelous festival season so far (a big thanks to Camp Out For the Cause, Redwood Mountain Faire, Marquette Waterfront Festival, The Soup, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Riversong Music Festival, and California WorldFest for the inspiring times and superb hospitality!) and it is still far from over...After these shows with Sam we head out to Saskatchewan for the Regina Folk Festival, then to Wisconsin for Fishstock in Fish Creek with JT and the Clouds, then up to Ontario for Windsong Music Festival, Eaglewood Folk Festival, and the Shelter Valley Folk Festival, then out to New Mexico for Pickamania!, Nashville, TN for the Americana Music Festival and Conference, then to North Adams, MA for FreshGrass at MassMoca, and finally back to California for Beaverstock at Castoro Cellars on the Central Coast.

We will be celebrating the end of a halcyon summer and the beginning of a blazing autumn with a special show at one of our bucket list venues - San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall - on September 24th with very special guests, brilliant performers, and dear friends Steve Poltz and John Elliot - curated and promoted by the great KC Turner Presents. We are very excited for this one and hope that all of our beloved Bay Area friends can join us… bring a friend, bring 10 friends- and be prepared for Steve to make you laugh, cry, and wet yourself  all at the same time…

We are also thrilled to announce that we have been invited back to Cayamo in 2016- it is an amazing music festival on a really big boat. We are deeply honoured that we get to play alongside such luminaries and musical heroes as John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Jason Isbell, Shawn Colvin and so many more...and it will be no hardship to escape Chicago in February and sail the Caribbean Sea! The Ship is full but there is a waiting list, and last minute cancellations have been known to happen...

Our upcoming record Real Midnight, produced by the inimitable and ever inspiring Joe Henry, has now been mixed and will soon be mastered by jedi/ninja engineer Ryan Freeland- we are working on the album sequencing, the artwork, and fulfilling all the Kickstarter rewards. We are plotting the best way to release it into the wilds with our intrepid manager Jimmy Rhine at Five Head Entertainment … We are champing at the bit to share this music with you all (Kickstarter folks will get it first of course- and our gratitude forever!)  but are having to learn wisdom and patience from Jimmy, in order to give it the best possible send up - it looks like early next year - late January/early February-  will be the release date- and our manager has a few irons in the fire that we are not at liberty to discuss yet- but we’ll keep you posted… in the meantime we’ll be playing lots of the new tunes live and seeing you down the road somewhere soon.

We hope this update finds you and your family and your friends, human and otherwise, thriving and staying cool

wishing you all much love, peace, music, health, and happiness

Touring With The Vinyl Cafe! NYC Showcase! Camp Out For The Cause!

Familia- I am writing you from a Canadian tour bus - which is similar to American tour buses, except just a little nicer, cleaner and more friendly... basically the difference between Canadian and American anything...
Why the hell are we on any kind of bus? Because we are lucky enough to be the musical guests for the great Stuart McLean and his CBC radio program, The Vinyl Cafe.  The Vinyl Cafe has been a hugely popular show in Canada for many years, and now has a rapidly growing American audience as well, with many NPR stations and Sirius Satellite Radio and Podcasts broadcasting it south of the border. The production is a traveling one, and we are with them for a week's worth of shows. We started on April 21st in Chatham Ontario, last night we played the Macomb Center in Clinton, MI - tonight is The Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI - April 24th The Temple Theater in Saginaw, MI - April 26th is The Hilbert Circle Theater in Indianapolis, IN- culminating on April 28 in Chicago (Skokie) at the North Shore Center For Performing Arts. The Chicago show is being presented by WBEZ and will be recorded for broadcast. We love the whole Vinyl Cafe family and are deeply honoured to be a part of it for these special shows...
Once, we wrap up the Vinyl Cafe, we'll be re-acclimating to van life and hitting the road ...  NYC friends - note we have added a special showcase at the Rockwood Music Hall on May 3... Showcasing for “Industry Folks” is a necessary, welcome, and exciting thing, but it will be easier on our souls and nervous systems if a bunch of spirited non-industry humans show up as well.... we need your energy!

As Spring eases into Summer and Festival season, we will be doing the usual chaotic but exciting hop scotch criss cross of the States and Canada, starting with Campout for the Cause  on the banks of the Colorado River at beautiful Rancho Del Rio on May 23rd.

You can sample the music HERE

Check our Tour Dates for all the upcoming festivals and shows, with more to be announced in the coming weeks...
In New Album news, we have been trying really hard the last few days NOT to think about the fact that Real Midnight, our upcoming record produced by the brilliant Joe Henry is being mixed by the great Ryan Freeland this week... Once we actually have final mixes in our hands and in our ears, it will get us that much closer to establishing a firm release date... Patience is a word that comes up a lot these days with our daughter Ida Maeve, who will turn 16 months next week... we are going to have to start preaching it to ourselves as well, while we work out the business side of the release. It's part of the deal, and part of making sure we give this record the best possible push into the wild world... We'll keep you posted of course, and since many of you reading this are Kickstarter Backers (Thank You Forever and a Day!) rest assured you will be getting this music a good long while before the rest of the world- estimated advance digital delivery for backers is July...We are still so humbled and shocked by the support from our Kickstarter village....  it feels good to be back out on the road, making music and making good on your faith in us.. More stories from the road to come ... xo, JT, Alli, Ida Maeve and the whole BOC Family
